This Privacy Policy explains how Duo Vino (“Duo Vino”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Duo Vino mobile app and this website. We keep data collection to what we need to run the app, and we never sell your personal information.
Who we are

Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Your password is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text.
- Profile. An optional display name you choose.
- Learning activity. Your progress in the app, such as lessons completed, quiz and mock-exam results, flashcard reviews, streaks, XP, and your tasting notes. We use this to sync your progress across devices and to power features like the Exam Readiness dashboard.
- Purchases. If you buy Premium, the purchase is processed by the App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your card details.
- Photos you add. If you attach a photo to a tasting note, that photo stays on your device. We do not upload your photo library to our servers.
- Diagnostics. If crash reporting is enabled in a future release, we may collect anonymised crash and error data to fix bugs. This never includes the contents of your notes.
How we use your information

- To save and sync your learning progress across your devices.
- To provide features such as quizzes, tastings and the Exam Readiness dashboard.
- To process and restore Premium purchases.
- To fix bugs, keep the service reliable, and respond to your support requests.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we need to run Duo Vino:
- Supabase: hosts our database and handles authentication and progress sync.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: distribute the app and process payments.
- RevenueCat: manages subscription status (used only once in-app purchases are enabled).
- A crash-reporting provider: receives anonymised diagnostics only if and when crash reporting is enabled.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data retention
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations.
Your rights and choices
You can access and update your profile in the app at any time. You can permanently delete your account and its data from Settings in the app, or by emailing us at support@duovino.app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export or restrict the use of your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California). To exercise any of these rights, just contact us.
Children and age
Duo Vino is about wine and is intended only for adults of legal drinking age in their country. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the legal drinking age. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the providers listed above. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
